Shopzilla Feed Overview

Items you submit to Shopzilla will be made searchable through the Shopzilla.com comparison shopping engine. Before submitting your products to Shopzilla, you must first create a Shopzilla account. There is a fee charged by Shopzilla related to posting your products. Please carefully review the Shopzilla documentation before using this screen. Shopzilla documentation can be found here:

Login to Shopzilla | Registration

The Control Panel automatically adds the following columns to your Shopzilla Feed:

Shopzilla Feed Properties

  1. FTP Account Access
    1. FTP Connections Mode:  Choose between active and passive connection.
    2. FTP User Name & Password: Enter the FTP User Name & Password supplied to you by Shopzilla for the purpose of uploading your product feed.
    3. FTP Destination Path: Enter the FTP Destination Path supplied to you by Shopzilla for the purpose of uploading your feed.
    4. Test Connection Button: An attempt to connect to Shopzilla via FTP using the supplied FTP Username and Password will be made. A message will appear stating error or success.
  2. Feed Submission
    1. Check Required Fields: Your Shopzilla product feed is automatically created. The Control Panel will check each product to see if all fields required by Shopzilla are populated. A report of missing fields will be created if necessary.
    2. Suppress Warnings: Change this to yes if you wish to ignore warnings stating that your product feed is missing required fields.
    3. I am selling Books: If this is set to YES, then the Control Panel will check for ISBN per product when checking for required fields.
    4. Include Product Links: This settings determines if Product Links are included in your Shopzilla product feed. If your Product Links are identical to your master Products, then it is suggested that the Include Product Links is set to NO.
    5. Submit Every X Days: Determines the submission interval for your Shopzilla Product Feed.
    6. I will submit the Feed Manually: Choose this option if you want to submit the feed manually using the Manual Feed Processing only.
  3. Manual Feed Processing
    1. Download sample feed containing x products: This will allow you to create a small sample of your feed. This function is useful if you have a large number of products and would like to inspect a small sample of your product feed.
    2. Create and Download Entire Feed: This function will create your product feed using the product data stored in your database and the settings you have selected on the Shopzilla table. This function is useful if you wish to obtain a copy of the feed for record keeping purposes, or if you need to modify the feed yourself before uploading to Shopzilla.
    3. Create & Submit feed Now: This function will create your Shopzilla product feed using the product data stored in your database and the settings you have selected on the Shopzilla Product Feed panel. Your feed will be uploaded to Shopzilla according to the information you entered into the FTP Account Access panel.
    4. Submit Custom Feed : This function will allow you to upload the file of your choice to Shopzilla. This function is useful if you would like to Create & Download Entire Feed, modify your feed, then upload it Shopzilla.
  4. Feed Optimization Settings
    1. Title:  Similar to Product Name. Use a combination of attributes per product to create a Product Title optimized for Shopzilla.
    2. Description: Use a combination of attributes per product to create a Product Description optimized for Shopzilla.
    3. Product Type:  Specify what level of your product structure should be declared to Shopzilla as the product type (per product).
  5. Advanced Attribute Settings
    1. Additional Attribute Mapping:  Additional attributes are offered by Shopzilla in order to better describe your products. Use the Additional Attribute Mapping settings to match additional attributes to your product data.
