eProcessingNetwork Credit Card Processor

eProcessingNetwork Credit Card Processor Overview

eProcessingNetwork Credit Card Processor is one of many gateway companies from which a user may choose. eProcessingNetwork provides the user's store with the capability to communicate with major credit card companies and electronic check processors, enabling the user to successfully process payments.

Includes the ability to charge with a click of a button. eProcessingNetwork allows the store owner to charge only once for a total of up to the previously authorized amount.

eProcessingNetwork Credit Card Processor Properties

  1. The selected CreditCard processor for user ... is [select box]: A select box indicating the Credit Card Processor that is currently active for the given store. Choosing an item from this select box will automatically transfer the user to the screen that corresponds with the selection made.
  2. Method: A dropdown that enables the user to select the method of communication with the eProcessingNetwork server. Options are AIM (recommended), WebLink + Relay Response, and SIM + Relay Response.
  3. Server URL: The URL of the eProcessingNetwork Server that Control Panel should connect to in order to send & receive credit card transaction data.
  4. API Login ID: An eProcessingNetwork-generated, account- identifying name that you use specifically for making API calls.
  5. Transaction Key: Provides a means of authentication between the Control Panel and eProcessingNetwork.
  6. Password: Deprecated (leave empty).
  7. MD5 Hash: This security feature verifies that a transaction response was actually sent by eProcessingNetwork. It's an optional feature. For implementation information, visit http://developer.eProcessingNetwork/guides/
  8. Transaction Type [select box]: A user may select between Authorize Only and Authorize and Capture. If the Transaction Type is set to Authorize Only, the Credit Card Processor will first ensure that sufficient funds exist in order for the transaction to be possible, and it will place a hold on these funds (where applicable), preventing the buyer from using the same funds in a separate transaction. If the Transaction Type is set to Authorize and Capture, the Credit Card Processor will complete all processes included in Authorize Only, but they will also bill and finalize the transaction, creating a record of its occurrence. When this happens, money changes hands from the buyer to the retailer, essentially.
  9. Mode [select box]: Choices include Normal and Test.  In Test Mode, transactions are handled through the test system to enable you to verify and fine-tune system operation. No money changes hands. In Normal Mode, real financial transactions are performed through the eProcessingNetwork transaction servers.
  10. Payment Name: The value entered in this field determines the label that appears next to the Credit Card payment option on the first page of the CheckOut process, where the customer is meant to select the method of payment he/she wishes to use. If this field is left blank, the default label for the option (Credit Card) will be inserted.
  11. Submit Amounts [select box]: Choose the currency type that will be transmitted to eProcessingNetwork. Options are as US Dollars and as Selected Currency. If As Selected Currency is chosen, then the transactions sent to eProcessingNetwork will be marked as being in the Currency specified for the given User on the Users screen | Store Configuration section | Currency setting.

FOR AIM (recommended) or SIM + Relay Response METHODS:

These are used expressly for the protection of your payment gateway account and should not be shared with anyone.

  1. Login to your merchant interface at https://secure.eProcessingNetwork
  2. Click Settings in the main left side menu
  3. Click API Login ID and Transaction Key
  4. Type in your secret answer. (You should have configured a secret question and secret answer during account activation. If you have not configured this security feature for your account, you will need to do so before you can create these values. Please see your user profile)
  5. Click Submit to continue
  6. The API Login ID and Transaction Key generated for your payment gateway account appear, copy and paste them to the "API Login ID" and "Transaction Key" text fields on this page

The Password-Required Mode is a highly recommended security feature for any merchant that uses the AIM or SIM connection methods to process transactions through the Payment Gateway. This mode prevents transactions from being completed with only the API Login ID.

  1. Login to your merchant interface at https://secure.eProcessingNetwork
  2. Click Settings in the main left side menu
  3. Click Password-Required Mode
  4. Check the check box "Require Password for ALL Transactions" and click Submit

The MD5 Hash security feature allows you to authenticate transaction responses from the payment gateway. You may establish a unique MD5 Hash value that the payment gateway will use when encrypting responses for transactions submitted for your account.

  1. Login to your merchant interface at https://secure.eProcessingNetwork
  2. Click Settings in the main left side menu
  3. Click MD5-Hash
  4. Enter the desired hash value in the New Hash Value text field
  5. Enter the value again in the Confirm Hash Value text field
  6. Click Submit
  7. Enter the applied MD5-Hash to the "MD5 Hash" text field on this page

Keep in mind that WebLink will soon be discontinued as an accepted connection method. You may need to prepare and plan for migration to either Simple Integration Method (SIM) or Advanced Integration Method (AIM).

DO NOT use the Password-Required Mode with the WebLink or Relay Response connection methods. All WebLink or Relay Response transactions submitted with a password WILL be rejected.

  2. "Require Password for ALL Transactions" check box must be unchecked
