SearchFit Shopping Cart v5.4 (Jun 20, 2005)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
changes and new features
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. NEW FEATURE: new keywords can be used in the main templates:
a) AUTO_GENERATED_MENU_CATEGORYTYPE_REMAINING: will be replaced with the auto generated CategoryType Menu that has CategoryTypes not specified by AUTO_GENERATED_MENU_CATEGORYTYPE_id keywords
2. NEW FEATURE: added a flag that denotes product ships in its own box and showing it when reviewing an order. Changed ALL S&H engines to group the products by this flag and calculate the fees
3. NEW FEATURE: the email notifications (like order receipts) of the users of the system can be disabled
4. NEW FEATURE: the users have new property: "Support Email". If provided, all emails sent to the customers will have this email as "From", so they easily reply to the correct support email address of the store.
5. NEW FEATURE: the users dropdown on the top-right corner of the webpages includes the domain name of the destination website URL
6. NEW FEATURE: the store owner may change the statuses of all shown orders to any available status during the export
7. NEW FEATURE: there are two modes on the HANDLING/DropShipping page:
a) show all products: default mode
b) show unassigned products: helps to make sure that all products are assigned to vendors if the store uses the drop shipping feature
8. NEW FEATURE: import products feature supports importing of related products, the export products feature supports exporting of related products
9. NEW FEATURE: new menu item STORE/Groups, which allows products to be grouped. Discounts can be configured for the created groups using the STORE/Discounts feature.
10. NEW FEATURE: new CSS item can be used in the SCART/CSS:
- scart_price_grand_total: the style of the grand total on the checkout pages
11. NEW FEATURE: group individual products into product groups, ability to grant discounts to group of products, the discounts have properties like: min quantity of the items in the group, min amount of the items in the group, begin and start date, valid for regular customers or members, discount in percentage or amount
12. NEW FEATURE: the layouts of individual groups of product options can be imported as well
13. NEW FEATURE: new keywords can be used in the products' templates:
a) AUTO_GENERATED_PRODUCT_PRICE_DIFF_AMOUNT: will be replaced with the amount difference of the list and final prices
b) AUTO_GENERATED_PRODUCT_PRICE_DIFF_PERCENT: will be replaced with the percentage difference of the list and final prices
14. NEW FEATURE: new keywords can be used in the main templates:
a) AUTO_GENERATED_TOOL_CATEG_NOSUBS: will be replaced with a dropdown navigator that has category types and categories, bit no subcategories
15. NEW FEATURE: the generation can be configured to produce <img> HTML tags for the brief products images with width and height attributes missing, auto populated, or constants
16. NEW FEATURE: added "Subtotal Without Discounts" on the 1st checkout page in case there are discounts applied, example:
Subtotal Without Discounts : US $1,913.24
Applied Discounts : US $-191.32
Subtotal : US $1,721.92
Tax (Texas: 8%) : US $137.75
S&H (test method) : US $16.90
Grand Total : US $1,876.57
17. NEW FEATURE: if distributing/transferring to a remote server then the store owner may select "advanced transfer" via Configuration/PerUser. It will try to compress, transfer, and uncompress the generated website, which is much faster than transferring file by file. Available only for Unix/Linux servers. It depends on the connections and servers, but we did several tests and here is one of our results with a regular store:
- in "file by file" mode, the transfer of generated website with 500 files took 3 minutes
- in "advanced transfer" mode, the transfer took only 10 secs
18. CHANGE: users with role "USER" do not have access to see the total amount of all the orders of the store on the orders page
19. CHANGE: the number of the allowed importing option groups is increased to 10
20. CHANGE: the max length of the customized webpage and images names for CategoryTypes, Categories, and Products is changed from 50 to 100 characters
21. BUG FIXED: while vendor is reviewing an order, there was a problem with the total price of the items that the vendor is not responsible for (the price was doubled)
22. BUG FIXED: fixed an error when running reports for user that do not manage all orders for all users
23. BUG FIXED: it was an infinite loop while transferring the generated website to some specific remote servers via FTP
24. BUG FIXED: fixed a problem with internetsecure.com real-time credit card processor when there is a "&" character in the request string to the processor
25. BUG FIXED: the import products function was clearing the customized webpage names of the CategoryTypes and Categories of the user that is importing
26. BUG FIXED: if selected a vendor then the export orders function was exporting all the products for an order, even those the vendor was not responsible for
27. PROBLEM SOLVED: the system keeps track of all deleted and inactivated custom webpages and it deletes them from the target website during the next generation _________________ Stanimir Stanev (Stanley)

Hi Stan,
This one is not working:
2. NEW FEATURE: added a flag that denotes product ships in its own box and showing it when reviewing an order. Changed ALL S&H engines to group the products by this flag and calculate the fees
I changed one of the products to have it ship in its own box and when I order more than one of them it combines them into one package so the shipping total is the same regardless if I have it as its own box or not. The shipping amount should be whatever the charge is for 1 times the quantity ordered if they are in their own box. If ordering 1 makes it one 9lb. package then ordering two should be 2 -9lb. packages and charged accordingly.
I haven't checked the rest as of yet. _________________ Justin

BlueMax,
I tested and it works for me, however I think that there is a slight misunderstanding
the way it works right now is that if there is a product in the cart with "ship in its own box" turned on then the product as a whole goes to it's own box regardless of it's quantity
if you want to make every single item (qty=1) to go to it's own box then I think it is better to introduce a new property where you can specify how many of the product go to own box.
please clarify!
BTW: all changes are free of charge for you until you accept the feature and you do not change it's description drastically
thanks,

Yes, I tested it a bit with more than one product and it is working properly. I think your suggestion to add the property where I can set the qty it should work properly.

The ability to change the status to our choosing when exporting is great and will save us a bunch of time! I am going through and testing the mix-and-match (groups) discounts and free shipping right now...so far so good. _________________ Justin

if you go to Configure/PerUser have your attention on the "Products: small images width/height" settings
if you enter 100 for the width then the generation will make sure about the width="100", if you enter "auto" the generation will have the correct width of the images in the width="X" attribute, if you leave it as "none" then the browser will take care of the actual sizes
for your information: if the browsers are taking care of the sizes of the images then they do some extra requests to your website and the page load is a bit slower as a whole, if the searchfit generation engine takes care of them then the generation will be slower, but your pages load faster
enjoy,

7. NEW FEATURE: there are 2 modes on the HANDLING/DropShipping page.
Hmm. It appears this isn't quite what I was asking for. I need to be able to display products by vendor with the option to display products which belong to one specific vendor or to no vendor at all.
The idea is to be able to do seceral things:
First, I need to quickly spot products which have no assigned vendor.
Second, I want to be able to quickly reassign groups of products (for example, everything from one manufacturer) to a specific vendor. I make these changes frequently as one or another vendor offers better pricing / service or whatever.
It looks like the present release does not give me this functionality. If I'm missing something please explain. Thanks again for all your good work, Stan. _________________ Regards,

Robert,
with the feature you are able to accomplish the first of what you have said above, this is exactly what it does, if you switch to "Show unassigned products" then you will be able to quickly spot products which have no assigned vendor
and that's what took us 2 hours for the implementation as I remember
also, if you notice, the dropdowns on the drop shipping page have some numbers and "[-]" signs. The "[-]" sign is shown for a categorytype (or category) if there is no product assigned for the vendor, and the number shows how many products from that categorytype (or category) have been assigned to the vendor.
however I am not sure about the second one, we have not designed and worked on a feature that enables you to assign all products from a manufacturer to a vendor
I am sorry, I just cannot find that in the description of the requested feature, or have I missed something?
thanks,

The problem as I see it is that I still have to parse every category type, category and sub-category to see any unassigned products. My store has hundreds of categories and sub-categories. It will take me many hours to parse each one.
What I need is the ability to search products by vendor. I could see unassigned products within a given category in the previous revision. _________________ Regards,

Robert, if you switch to that SPECIAL mode, ONLY categorytypes and categories are shown that have unassinged to vendor products
I just tried at your cart and I see few categories
if you assign the products they will all dissapear

Jerome,
to create group of products use the STORE/Groups function
right now we are using the groups to allow you to setup group discounts, in future versions we will use the groups for other things like showing them on the website
thanks,
