SearchFit Shopping Cart v4.23 (Aug 24, 2004)

changes and new features

1. NEW FEATURE: SearchFit supports worldpay.com real-time creditcard processor

2. NEW FEATURE: new keyword that can be used in the products' templates:
a) AUTO_GENERATED_PRODUCT_NUMBER_ONLY - the number of the product (no prefixes or suffixes)

3. NEW FEATURE: (chiefadmins only) new keyword that can be used in the export orders templates:
a) ORDER_CC_TYPE - credit card's type

4. NEW FEATURE: a product of type Separator can be created. This is a product that has only a description and sort number. Nobody can order it and its description is shown in a separate line on the generated page. It is used usually as a header or to separate group of products. It is good also to give more content for the generated categories pages where it is shown. Web Pages are not generated for such products.

5. NEW FEATURE: the page names of the generated category types can be customized as well

6. NEW FEATURE: (Products: brief pages) added an option to the "configuration per user" that allows the generation of the brief pages of the products to be disabled.

7. NEW FEATURE: (Show Product Numbers (SKUs)) added an option to the "configuration per user" that allows the product numbers (SKUs) to be hidden on the checkout pages and not included in the emails.

8. NEW FEATURE: the export products feature supports a mode where the export can be monitored and when it is done downloaded from a file. The file expires in 24 hours and can be downloaded only once. This may help SearchFit users that are exporting a big amount of products and have slow internet connection.

9. NEW FEATURE: when a vendor logs in to review an order, he sees ONLY the items he is responsible for

10. NEW FEATURE: added a new product property called "Inventory Control by", which configures what quantity the inventory control should check and change. Possible values are: "Product+Options" and "Options Only"

11. NEW FEATURE: new keywords can be used in the content of the "customized web links and pages"
a) AUTO_GENERATED_SITEMAP_BRIEFS - will be replaced with the autogenerated sitemap. The sitemap will have the brief descriptions of the categories, subcategories, and products included
b) AUTO_GENERATED_SITEMAP_DETAILS - will be replaced with the autogenerated sitemap. The sitemap will have the detail descriptions of the categories, subcategories, and products included

12. NEW FEATURE: new CSS items can be used in the CSSMain for the generated website

13. NEW FEATURE: the statuses of group of orders can be selected to be flipped (changed from NEW to PROGRESS) during an export

14. BUG FIXED: the inventory control was changing the quantities of the product's options in the order, but were not checking them whether to disable the order or not.

15. BUG FIXED: during a fresh import of products all apostrophes were replacing with a double quotes by mistake

16. BUG FIXED: the FTP transfer of the generated website to a 3rd party server was giving that some of the files did not transfer. This was happening in case the store has products of type links. Actually, the transfer was successful, but the counting not.

Thanks for the example. That's exactly what I had in mind.

I've already created some separator products on one of my pages. I'll be using this feature extensively. Many of my products are sold as "customized kits." Each kit consists of a few of products from each of several sub-categories. The separator product allows me to group the products logically, making it easier for my customers to find all they need on a single page. That was the only thing I had on my old website that was missing on SearchFit.

Stan,

Here's a link to a CATEGORY page I created this evening using SEPARATOR products + LINK products:

I need to build over 100 such pages. Many of the new pages will be almost the same but with a few different products.

It would be a major help to me if there was a way to COPY an existing category and then edit the new category.

I suspect this function could be added to SearchFit fairly easily. Since many merchants create multiple similar category pages on their sites, this would probably benefit a lot of your clients.

What do you think?

Hi Robert,

I went through the todo list and I found that we have already such a requirement

- copy a category and all products under the category
- remove a category and all products under the category

so we are going to implement it, however I can not give you an exact version of searchfit that will have it

we are working to have a release the coming Monday

I hope there will be no urgent requests for additional implementations for the version that will delay the release
