How do I export categories?
The bottom area of the page does not have an option for exporting.
(Products do have an option for exporting)

For now, you cannot export categories alone. You can export products with category info though.

Hi Zeev,

Export of categories works very similar to exporting products.

First you need to create an export template, under Template Storage > Export Products.

Click New Template, then you'll find a link for "Examples". It'll open a new screen and there is an example for "Export distinct categories".

If you create a template using this example, you'll be able to export all categories in your store.

To execute the export, you simply go to the Products Page, switch to Search Mode, to display all your products, click on the "Additional Functions for the Product Above" box, there you'll find a Eport dropdown with the template you just created.

Best Regards,

That works fine, it is just confusing that to export categories you need to go to products.
Now I want to import category data to "Alternate Name" but I do not see any field in the import template with a name like this.

Marco,

Perhaps the above instructions are a bit different with the newer version of SF.

Where do we find the "Export distinct categories" example now?

Thanks.
